Elson, who is always visibly struggling with his ability to paint recognizable faces, here delivers his single worst cover for Virgin. The sky full of shooting stars in the background is the single redeeming feature in this cover, but it still can't make up for the rest of it. Elson's strengths lie in other areas, and I must say I sympathize with his attempts to portray characters. One of the unique challenges for the cover artists of TV tie-in novels is the necessity to regularly show the main characters on the front cover. Fortunately, after what must have been a great deal of practice on his part, Elson at long last got the hang of McCoy's difficult features for the cover of Legacy.

(Even after all these years, I still haven't got around to reading this one yet!)
